Our events

At Johnson’s we’re always busy enjoying knitting, crochet and stitching and there’s chatter and laughter as we share what we’re all crafting with our lovely and clever customers.
Just like our theme tune, Mrs Johnson's Happiness Emporium, we believe in putting in effort into improving our world. We are working with others in Blackpool’s South Shore Waterloo Village to bring a neglected area back to the attracting and thriving shopping hub it once was.

By the Saturday, the 21st of May, of the wool festival we’ll be trying to beat the world record set in London for the longest continuous knitted bunting. We need more than 3,212.41 metres of triangular bunting knitted. Contact us if you can help, or just send us triangles, we’ll sew them together.

On the Sunday of the 22nd of May wool festival we’re going to try to beat London’s world record for the most people knitting simultaneously. We’ll need more than 3083 participants. We’re organising knitting lessons for beginners, so you’ve no excuse!

We’ve enjoyed some successful events yarnbombing in our local area:

  • • We’ve covered the light bollards on the Prom with monsters
  • • We’ve decorated the tram stop on the Prom with flowers
  • • Now we’re working to put a permanent display onto the two lamp posts outside our shop.

  • We’d love any knitted or crochet flowers, or any spare wool that you have around. Take a look at our Pinterest page to see what yarnbombing is
